Ammonium chloride is a strong electrolyte with colorless crystalline or white granular powder, it can ionize ammonium ion and chloride ions when is soluble in water , ammonia and hydrogen chloride combined to produce ammonium chloride and have odorless white smoke. The taste is salty and bitter. Moisture absorption is small, but in wet rainy weather can also be absorbed moisture and agglomerate. Powder ammonium chloride is easily deliquescent, especially wet ammonium. The moisture absorption point is about 76%. When the relative humidity in the air is greater than the moisture absorption point, ammonium chloride is produced. 

The property of aqueous solution is weak acid, and the acidity is enhanced when heated. It's corrosive to ferrous metals and other metals, especially copper, but not to cast iron. Application of industrial grade ammonium chloride mainly used in electroplating, battery, dyeing, weaving, casting, medicine, flocking, fluff, chemical intermediates, etc.
